Banking and Finance Government Jobs

Most of the Banking and Finance jobs follow a similar syllabus and recruitment scheme. A few such are IBPS, Banks, Insurance (LIC, GIC), RBI, NABARD, SSC (CGL, CHSL), IB ACIO, UPSC (EPFO, Labour Officer) Exams. The following subjects are mostly covered in the syllabus. So you should have a command over these subjects. Faster response time and practice are most important because you may have to answer about 100 questions in 60 minutes of time. It may take a few months to prepare for these subjects based on your capacity.

The following are common subjects

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • General Studies
  • Banking and Finances Awareness
  • Computer Awareness
  • English Language

You can’t prepare for IBPS or Bank exams only. The success rate is going to be minimal in such cases. Since the syllabus and pattern are similar for many recruitments, a common preparation strategy is better.

Preparation Strategy

1) Complete Understanding of the Scheme and Syllabus: Though the syllabus is almost the same for all exams, the scheme differs. For any recruitment, You should be in a position to remember the Scheme and Syllabus at your fingertips.

2) Understand the Test/Exam Pattern: By analyzing previous papers, you will understand the test pattern. If you are unable to understand the exam pattern, no matter how talented you are, you may not succeed in the test.

3) Preparation: Now is the time to prepare a comprehensive study plan and execute the same. You should consider other recruitments in your planning if you are preparing for different jobs.

4) Practice: Banking and Financial sector jobs demand accuracy within a short span of time. Hence speed also matters here unlike in UPSC recruitments where analysis is more important. The more you practice, the more you succeed. You can practice previous papers or test series. You should also learn from your mistakes during practice.

5) Revision: Important formulae and any other concepts should be revised frequently.
